OOC: I have posted this once before, but apparently it got lost in whatever transfer happened or something like that, so I am positng it again. Well, I did edit it a little but this is my final form for Blanche so here it is:
About You-
Nickname: None just call me Tiana.
Experience in Role-play: I have been role playing for about maybe three years or so, I have been in a number of role-plays all varying in length and quality, but never have I been part of an entire forum that was one big role-play like this one is.
About your Character-
Name: Blanche (pronounced Blôn sh, the n is rushed through and barely heard.) Her nickname, among both dogs and humans, is “Blizzard”.
Gender: Female
Age: Five Summers
Blood: 95% Dog 5% Wolf.
Breed: Husky
Detailed description:
At the shoulder, Blanche stands at a medium 1ft. 7 in. Her beautiful coat a white color very near to the purest of snow, there are no markings marring the perfection of her white coat, with one exception, a scar running across her muzzle, won in one of her first fights in Alaska. Her fur is naturally soft, when properly groomed, her fur has often been compared to thick velvet, but her fur has not been properly groomed in 2 years, but it is still softer than the fur of most other huskies. Her eyes are a deep electric blue, and when she looks directly in your eyes, some say it feels as though Blanche can see your very soul. She is sleek and her muscles are well developed and toned from both before she was a sled dog and after. Her pads and nose are all of a rather rosy complexion except for one black pad, and that pad is the one on her left hind leg.
Personality:
Blanche is a very sweet and loyal dog by nature. By conditioning, she has learned to be tough enough to survive in the harsh conditions which were thrust so suddenly on her, but this does not mean that she is keen to fight, in fact she avoids what fights she can, and those fights that she does end up entangled in she finishes as quickly as possible. Blanche is very smart and a fast learner, she does not like to get into trouble and so she decided early on as a pup that she would always learn what was expected of her as quickly as possible. She is also very sensible and thinks all things through as thoroughly as the situation allows. She also has a good sense of humor, but it is usually tucked away when out on a run, because on a run there is not much space for jokes and casual play. Blanche is a rather caring dog and now considers all her teammates as her “children” even if some of them are older than her.
History:
Blanche was born in a breeding kennel in Canada. She was bought by a young, visiting, American couple, by the last name of Peters. They wanted to have a working-class show dog both as a show dog and as a faithful companion. When they saw her beautiful coat and her sweet temperament, they thought that she would do very well as a show dog, and they were right. They began her training a week after she had gotten home, just two weeks after her first birthday. She soon became the pride and joy of the young couple.
She went on a run with her “mom”, Mrs. Peters every morning and on a walk with her “dad”, Mr. Peters every evening. She enjoyed full access to the main level of the house as well as the freedom to go outside when she pleased; they got a dog-door installed in the door that led to the backyard. She had two meals a day; both were a mix of what the humans called soft and hard food, along with a water bowl that was always full. Her human parents brushed her naturally soft fur at least twice every day, this attention to it gave it sheen and a feel kin to thick velvet. She was never treated with harsh words for she is a fast learner and learned early what the rules of the house and contests were, and she followed them to a tee. She loved every minute of everyday and was living life to the fullest.
But all that changed when she was three summers old. It was at the end of a day’s competition, just after the prizes had been given out. Mrs. Peters had wanted to talk to the judges because they were some old friends. Not seeing Mr. Peters and not wanting her friends to leave without saying hi, handed Blanche over to a seemingly respectable handler, but that handler’s dog had lost to Blanche and the handler was not happy about this. The handler casually led Blanche outside and Blanche reluctantly followed, continuously looking back over her shoulder for Mrs. Peters who had long ago gotten lost in the crowd.
Blanche knew something was not right and tried her hardest to get away, but the handler was a strong man and Blanche had been taught not to bite, had she bitten the man, she might have gotten away, but she had not. She had growled and resisted every inch of the way, but in the end he had taken her to a government run kennel five states away from where her human parents lived. The man took her collar away, after a brief struggle that Blanche lost, and gave her over to the kennel saying that he had been her owner and that he no longer wanted her. The Kennel men didn’t know any better and so Blanche had been shut away in a cage.
For weeks Blanche neither ate nor slept, but after one month of this, she gave up hope that her human parents would find her and take her home. A month after Blanche had started eating again, the kennel was ordered to take all its worker dogs and send them north to Alaska, because a Gold Rush had started there and they were in need of sled-dogs. A week after, a man was sent to choose those best fit for the job, and Blanche had been one of the ones chosen to go. Thus she was sent north to do the work that many of her breed had done for years, sled-pulling.
It has been two years since she was first sent north, now her show-dog days are but a distant memory, she often remembers her old parents and living-style longingly, but she has faced her cold reality and tries not to think about them too much. Because she does not want to remember what she has lost, she has thrown herself into the work that she has come to enjoy. She has made it her own competition to be the best sled-dog she can be, and every time she is in the harness, it becomes a new challenge, one that she strives to fulfill to the best of her abilities.
Roleplaying Sample:
My sample is rather long so instead of posting it here I am giving you this link to where it is already posted. Mind you my normal posts are not usually as long as all that, but they will always be at least three paragraphs. This is one of my most recent pieces of work and yes it is for a Sonic RP.
Picture:
Again instead of the actual thing, some links to pictures of dogs that look much how I picture Blanche in my mind.
Picture #1: Blanche is obviously the white dog on the left. (I like this one 'cause it shows the eyes open)
Picture #2: This one's my avvie I just thought it was so cute that it needed to be shown here too.
Picture #3: This is the one where I reallly noticed the color of the nose, and that is the color I imagine her nose and pads to be.
*A note: everything underlined in this post is a clicky that is where you will find the pictures and the sample.
Edit: I am sorry that the last two pics don't work I have no idea why they won't let anyone access the site through the link from here, but just look at my avvie to see a smaller version of the 2nd pic.
